Updating a Mascot

As part of social design, I was asked to redesign the Cracked mascot. While exploring different directions, the final style evolved into a cartoon-driven look that aligned with the editor’s vision for the project.

The work involved creating multiple versions for different editorial theme weeks, which required playful experimentation while keeping the mascot recognizable and on-brand.

The original Cracked mascot was created as a rip-off of MAD Magazine’s Alfred E. Neuman. The editor wanted to bring it back for the site’s theme weeks … but with a modern twist.

Here are various iterations of the mascot in progress.
